Vampire: The Masquerade 20th Anniversary Edition
Publisher: White Wolf

This takes me back. You think that sexy brooding vampires is a new phenomenon? Trust me, the vampire craze of the 1990's was an interesting time. And along with Anne Rice books and Buffy, Vampire The Masquerade was at the helm of the fad.

Back then I probably played more hours of V:TM then all other tabletop games combined. And Vampire: The Masquerade 20th Anniversary Edition, was a fun nostalgic trip back to those days.

Everything you need, whether you are new player who loves Twilight and True Blood, or an old veteran who loves Lestat and Poppy Z Brite, is in this book. The presentation is flawless. Worth every penny!

Happy hunting!

Tour de Lovecraft: The Tales

I was first introduced to writer and role-playing game designer Kenneth Hite thanks to the excellent HP Lovecraft Literary Podcast. Gamers out there are probably familiar with Hite from his work on GURPS and the superb Trail Of Cthulhu RPG.

Tour de Lovecraft: The Tales is a collection of Hite's thoughts on each and every tale by weird fiction author and father of the Cthulhu Mythos HP Lovecraft. And it is damn good! Fans of Lovecraft will find, well, a lot to love here. Hite offers wit and true insight on many of our favorite weird tales. For the "noob", Tour de Lovecraft is a perfect guide for the literary fan looking to explore Lovecraft's often obtuse work.

A must buy!

Trail of Cthulhu: Many Fires

It is an awesome time to be a fan of the Cthulhu Mythos. With the work of H.P. Lovecraft falling into the public domain, game makers are free to use his creations to make a new generation of unique games.

Such is the case for Trail Of Cthulhu.

Right off the bat, Trail of Cthulhu: Many Fires takes place in northern Mexico. A location few games have taken us before. Also, its a pulp adventure, filled with action and adventure, but there is plenty for fans of "purist" Mythos adventures. The game master is given multiple plot hooks to draw in characters without railroading them. And the Historical content is superb.

I highly recommend this adventure for game masters who want to introduce players to the Cthulhu Mythos.
