Trigger Men #1: Killing the Elderly

I've reread this issue and the second issue repeatedly, and That is not something I do unless the story can really hold up. As the narrative progresses there is wonderful foreshadowing. The little moments between characters hint at action that takes place between the panels, and anyone who has read indie-comics will recognize how rare it is to find that skill in a writer or artist. Honestly, I have only recently become interested in comics, and I give all credit for my new passion to the talented folks at Triptych Books.

Pick up every issue the second it comes out.

Trigger Men #2: High School Reunion Part 2
by Eddie B. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 08/06/2011 17:00:29

The story gets funner! If your reading this I assume youve seen issue 1, and want to know whats next! Cover art stepped it's game up very nicely. You'll be glad to know the same characters deliver the same witty commentary and the backgrounds stand out as lovingly created stages for the action. If you read issue 1 and 2 and DON'T want more, you should probably just buy a copy of your nearest TnA comic and read that. What you will get here is clever commentary and the potential for one "helluva" story to develop.

The praise I wrote for issue 1 applies here as well, the art is solid, the action beleivable, and common! It's an upstart, help these guys and gals launch their biz.

This book is the first book, of the debut title of an Indie label. If for no reason other than suppourting the little guy, i'd recomend buying it! It's an indie, the art is well done, and the characters draw you in.

The dialogue between the protaganists is wordy at first but that is where any complaints END! The art is well done B&W, the characters grow on you and the action feels real. The biggest pitfalls you might expect from an intro comic are NOT present here, the characters fit into the environments, the page layout is bold and interesting in contrast to some "storyboard-like" titles. The characters behave and interact in a consistent and intertaining way. The scenes are set with brilliantly executed art that displays the artists knack for perspective, and environmental layout. The characters are almost upstaged by the background art, however the pannels work in such a way that you get mostly character, or mostly baground for a nice ballance. Note in this issue that the home shot from birds eye view is perfectly timed, in perspective, and sets the entire scene for the forthcoming action, THAT, is how comics should be approached, like cinema.

Improvements are made within this issue alone, so please, consider downloading this, help make this comic a success and we will hopefully see more and more great titles fill the shelves our local comic shops.

Trigger Men #1: Killing the Elderly
by Erin M. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 02/25/2011 00:50:20

This is a “dark comedy” not only entertaining but deeply engaging, filled with razor wit, believably bizarre characters, and a plot that politely requests(but does not require) a second, third, and umpteenth read. Matt and Jason are lovable killers, well rounded and complex enough to make one feel as though they are real and just perverse enough to make one glad that they are not. While the term “dark comedy” has been abused in the past and applied to comics tame enough to almost devalue the phrase, here it is redeemed. The characters face dark and twisted moral dilemmas with an almost child-like nonchalance that is deeply satisfying for the reader. I am utterly enamored with this series, and will be following it with near-baited breath.

This is easily one of my new favorites, and I cannot wait for more from these guys. Its Witty, and smart! The satire used in the book is enough to keep coming back. The interactions between Matt and Jason remind me of conversations my friend and I used to have. You can tell the writer has a lot of fun writing this and has so much more in store. The art is great, and I absolutely love the cover. Its definitely worth the read. Thanks guys and keep this up!
