MURDER FOLLOWS WHEN SUPERSTITION CHALLENGES SCIENCE

Judy, the jungle-dwelling daughter of an American naturalist, confronts the lethal effects of out-of-control egoes when she crosses paths with a filmmaker and his crew, and struggles against sinister medicine men in the third and final entry in NUELOW Games' Judy of the Jungle series.

In addition to comics and fiction starring Judy, Judy of the Jungle: Murder Goes Native also contains two stories featuring Alani, one of the earliest ethnic comic book leads and one of the few "jungle girls" who wasn't white. "MY DADDY TOLD ME TO NEVER TRUST A MAN!"

During the Golden Age of Comics, jungle adventure series were all the rage. In 1937, Will Eisner and Jerry Iger hit on the notion that a female jungle hero couldn't help but be popular with the core comic book audience what with the tendency of jungle heroes to not wear much in the way of clothes. So, into existence came Sheena... and shortly after that, the first "fan service" likewise appeared.

Judy of the Jungle debuted in 1947, ten years after Sheena. She first appeared in Exciting Comics #55 where she became popular enough to knock long-time title star Black Terror from the cover within two issues of her debut. She enjoyed a 15...

"THE JUNGLE IS NO PLACE FOR BEASTS LIKE YOU!"

Raised by her misanthrope of a naturalist father to feel more kinship with the animals of the African jungle than with other humans, young Judy champions wildlife and the wilderness along the Yazoo River. She only fully trusts Pistol Roberts, an American ranger. Her general distrust of humanity serves her well, as she finds herself the target of a corrupt big game hunter and comes into conflict with a former circus freak with dreams of building a jumgle empire in this second volume of "Judy of the Jungle" tales from NUELOW Games.

Judy of the Jugle: Warriors of Laughing Hyena features four great comics adventures--three by the c...

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
